How can I tell if there is a session variable set by an external source?
So I'm using ASP.NET and at one point I'm executing some code that needs to get a value from the session, the problem is the value is passed in from an external source (a third-party API).
My question is this: is there a way to determine if there is a session variable set by another source that I don't have control over?
I'm thinking of something along the lines of System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session.GetOrCreate("name", "external-source")
I know that this won't actually create the session variable if it exists, but this would be handy for some other situations where I need to know that a session variable exists for external reasons.
A:
See if this works:
public bool HasSessionVariable(string key)
{
HttpContext context = HttpContext.Current;
if (context.Session!= null)
{
var dict = context.Session[key] as IDictionary; be359ba680
